Tamia Wilson

Tamia Wilson
Tamia Wilson was born in San Francisco, California. She lived in many different places, but was raised most of her life in Fairfield. Tamia took some time to adjust to come from a big city to such a suburban town.
Her major turning event in her life was when her grandfather passed away last year in 2013. Ever since Tamia was little, he helped her with everything in school. When she lost him, she realized that she had to stop depending on people; that people are not always going to be there for her, and that she needed to learn how to do things on her own. What came out of this experience was knowledge. She started to learn how to do things on her own and things that she never knew she could do.
So, she found a passion to help her community. In 2011, she began a nonprofit organization called Reach 1 Teach 1Reach 1 Teach 1 is a drive that donates backpacks full of school supplies to the less fortunate and those who have incarcerated parents. Tamia began this backpack drive to see people with smiles on their faces and to bless them with something they can’t afford on their own.
In the future, she plans on becoming an aviation psychologist, which helps pilots who have had a traumatic experience while flying from different areas. Also, she wants to see her non-profit business, Reach 1 Teach 1 expand and form into a huge organization that helps different people from all over the world.
